NNE Earth Day 🌎 tree planting on Willamette Ave. was a huge success!
We successfully planted 13 trees in the Willamette Ave. median on April 22, 2022, for Earth Day! We had a great turnout from City Forestry, Colorado College, the Near North End Neighborhood, and Community Prep. Click here to read KRDO’s news coverage of the event.
COS Initiatives RetoolCOS
RetoolCOS proposed rezoning Office Residential (OR) properties to Mixed-Use Neighborhood (MX-N). This rezoning would have allowed extensive commercial uses for OR properties.
We were able to preserve OR zoning and prevent currently zoned OR properties to be rezoned to MX-N.OC properties were rezoned to MX-N.
MX-N allows permitted uses for restaurants, as well as conditional uses for bars, micro-breweries, retail, vehicular sales/rental, hotel/motel, detox centers, and other commercial uses.
Historic Preservation
We mapped all of the NNE historic properties and are currently focusing our historic preservation efforts on the NNE Northwest District – highlighted in yellow.
